Challenge comes with game mechanics, not health, which is what BL2 does for challenge. Lastly, I never insinuated that challenge entails Dark Souls level of challenge. Also, when Raid Boss farming, only a few guns are worth using during UVHM through OP8. There aren’t many legendaries that do that, and only a couple of Pearls. I expect a weapon of the highest tier of rarity to have a very low TTK against trash mobs. Next, I agree that more than 5 weapons can be used in endgame, but not very effectively. It’s supposed to be powerful anyway, like I eluded to with the power hierarchy (not the Bee directly). It’s a shield, so getting hit once negates the effect of the amp damage. However, I don’t think it’s still broken. I agree that weapons and items need to be fixed if their broken, a la the Bee. Not everything needs to be as tough-as-nails as games from the 8-bit era or Dark Souls but a game devoid of any challenge just gets boring really fast. There is only so much damage you need to put out to kill stuff reliably and all these cheesy Noobfleet, Beehawk and whatnot "builds" are overkill for 90% of the game. For the 90% that do play for the loot, I see no reason why the patch is a bad idea. Besides, I assumed most people played BL2 for the loot, not for a challenge.
I also don't believe that keeping the weapons as is will increase challenge. With the patch, running bolt-actions are perfectly viable and change up the playstyle immensely.
I'm sick of building my Sal with Harolds and Norfleets just like everyone else. The patch buffs the weapons that were by all accounts and purposes useless once you hit Lvl.72, opening up many different playstyles. I understand that there needs to be a hierarchy of power to the weapons but in vanilla, there aren't many weapons that are actually used during endgame.
